What are your WYD plans?
My daughter leaves Aug 13 and spends 4 days in Paris. This part of the trip is very open; the only definitive plan is to attend Mass at Notre Dame Cathedral. Then they head to Belgium specifically to visit a concentration camp. Then they'll head to Cologne for the actual WYD portion. They return to St. Louis on the 22nd (my birthday!).
We're lucky with school this year. We often start as early as Aug 17th but upperclassmen don't begin till Aug 26. That'll give her and her friend time to adjust from jet lag and be ready to go strong with their Junior year. It would've been difficult to miss days so early.

Re: What are your WYD plans?
Unfortunately, my WYD plans will probably be limited to watching the event on television. I have friends who are going with their churches, though.

Re: What are your WYD plans?
Hi
we are not going to WYD this year, but we went to Toronto in 2002 to see JPII. It was a beautiful experience. On sunday morning, it was pouring rain, and then the Pope said: Courage! The rain reminds us of our Baptism...and the rain stop, the sun suddenly came in and it was hot afterwards.
For my wife, me and our 2 teens, it was a miracle.
Bonne semaine
Benoit

Re: What are your WYD plans?
We did go to the Papal Mass in Toronto in 2002.
My sister however flies out next Friday (Aug 5) -they go to Rome for 4-5 days, then Salzburg, Bonn, Munich, and finally Cologne for WYD. After which her parish group flies back to Canada. But she will fly to the UK to visit with my Aunt for a few days. She only returns back to Canada at the end of Aug. Should be fun.

Re: What are your WYD plans?
Hi,
We're starting out by flying to London and arriving on Monday (because flying to London is sooo much cheaper than germany -- almost $500 cheaper!) Then we're taking a high-speed train on Tuesday morning through France and Belgium into Cologne so we arrive in time for the opening Mass on Tuesday evening. After WYD, some of us are doing the reverse while others are going to visit France and Spain.

Re: What are your WYD plans?
We leave on the morning of the 10th. We spend some time in Cincinatti (sweet!) and then take a plane to Frankfut.
We plan on witnessing to the Netherlands for six days. Then go on with the WYD festivities.
Wow, this is my first trip abroad and I am really nervous and excited.
We should set up a meet and greet for the CA forums.
