Default Scriptura Addo Catholicus?!

Help guys,

there is this guy on youtube that put a video out saying "Anyone who cannot provide a list of traditions from Jesus and the apostles which we are to keep that they taught exclusively orally and are not in scripture but claim that such exist will be blocked."
This guy doesn't belong to anyone but is a scola scriptura believer big time and only goes by the bible saying that our "sect" was name Catholic in the 1800's (obviously not) and that men added traditions that veered away from Jesus and The Apostles. Is this just ramblings from a crazy guy. He ended up blocking me because I kept answering his retorts. So am I just wasting my breath with him? Anyone please advise what he probably means by Scriptura Addo Catholicus if it even exists.

Arnold

Well not only do I believe you would be wasting your time, it would be very difficult to carry on a conversation if he blocked you

I've never ran into the phrase Scriptura Addo Catholicus but it probably goes along the lines of "Catholics add to Scripture" and to that I would say, "yup" We added 27 books to the Scriptures. Folks call it the New Testament today.

God bless

A closed mind built on a foundation of ignorance is invincible.

Wrong, but invincible. Don't waste your time: "The Spirit blows where it will," just not there.

I've made efforts to explain to this person his errors, and speak about how he actually does adhere to tradition (the Canon of the bible). At this point, after several posts, I was blocked. I've invited him to come to this thread in order to debate his point more thorougly, with regards to his several claims. If he accepts, I will be glad. If not, then I will not be surprised. Either way, the mere fact that I was blocked the second he was given the chance shows that he did not wish me to refute his further replies.

One would be purgatory. Another would be the Trinity. Yet another is the communion of the saints. Very early evidence for communion of the saints in the early Church.

And we could point to passages in scripture which support these doctrines but they are not explicit in scripture.

Exactly.

And absolutely Cruxis, I have been inviting people to forums.catholic.com if I'm on youtube debating with them.
