I bought couple corns, they are real color and very hard, all natural.

I am thinking about make something use it, and already use one corn to peel half of the seeds,

I will show you what I made use it later,

Xntrik, I do hope you will check this thread later; I has set a half corn, and will show pictures what I made from this half corn.

This is Indian corn. When I was a kid, we had a huge garden, and we always used to plant some just for the purpose of decorating for fall. Indian corn with pumpkins and corn stalks makes a very pretty fall decoration!

Yes, it can be eaten and often makes for good popcorn.

It is very hard because it is part of a variety often known as "flint corn" This is typically ground into flour to make tortillas and the like. In contrast, "sweet corn" is a variety bred to have a higher sugar content, which makes it tastier to eat straight off the cob.

Sweet corn is picked when the sugar content is high, which is why it is soft and has a milky white interior. Flint corn is picked after all the sugars have turned to starch. It is drier and keeps much better without refrigeration.

If you try to eat indian corn off the cob, you will probably find that it is very bland because it is almost all starch, and no sweetness.

I didn't know any of this before, I just learned it now...

...because you asked such good questions.

Thank you, Dale_M, you are so good.

Thank God! the corns looks like jewels to me but in God Kingdom everything will be beautiful beyond expectation.

Revelation 21
19The foundations of the wall of the city are adorned with every jewel; the first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, 20the fifth onyx, the sixth cornelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst. 21And the twelve gates are twelve pearls, each of the gates is a single pearl, and the street of the city is pure gold, transparent as glass.

hi roselily,

That's exactly what I thought when I saw your pictures of the corn!! They do look like beautiful jewels.

Are those pictures of the corn jewelry you made? They are beautiful! You are very creative and talented.

God's blessings to you,
and thanks for sharing,

CEM

They have corn like that all the time where I live, mostly sold as a fall decoration. They're probably so easy to get around here because the town's 1/8 Native American—that's also why most of our supermarkets sell blue corn flour along with the regular types.

I probably live in the one city in the Lower 48 where you can routinely hear two completely unrelated Native American languages (Hopi and Navajo) just walking around in a supermarket. There are actually some monolingual Navajo speakers, admittedly elderly; and it's not at all uncommon for kids to grow up speaking Navajo as their first language.

Greetings Roselily,

Have you considered making rosaries out of the corn? I am sure they would be nice.

God Bless.
