Default Prayer for the lonely ones

Dear Jesus,

We are sisters and brothers in You. Help the lonely to find the other lonely people to find reassurance and company Lord. Determine them to choose to bring betterment and cheer to others' lives.
Help them to have the courage to find wholesome companionship where interests and laughter can be shared.
Help them to flourish as the wonderful persons You created them to be.
Please give the lonely experience of Your love in each other's company.

The prayer of St. Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women and
blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Lord, I experience loneliness often so I know how it feels. Please help all lonely people find and meet others whom they can be friends with, share their joys and pains, and just someone to listen and talk to. We ask their guardian angels to collaborate so that they may find and meet each other. You have made us for each other and You do not want us to be alone.

Bring us closer to You Lord, and to other people.

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy Name,
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those
who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil .
Amen .

Hail Mary full of grace .
The Lord is with Thee .
Blessed art Thou amongst women
And blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus .
Holy Mary Mother of God ,
pray for us sinners ,
now and at the hour of our death .
Amen .

Glory be to the Father
and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit
As it was in the beginning is now ,
and ever shall be , world without end .
Amen

Jesus, Scripture tells us, “It is not good that man should be alone.” [Genesis 2:8] Yet loneliness affects many people even in company because they feel unable to trust in their value to others. They often feel rejected and unloved, and have little self-esteem.

Jesus, we humans hope for companionship that is reciprocal and happy, with love that affirms our individuality and value. We seek in others the gift of ourselves forgiven and accepted in all our faults. We also secretly desire others’ recognition of our hidden beauty. We cannot receive such a gift unless we can also give to others the gift of themselves accepted by love that is aware, not blind.

Express Your love in our relationships as we seek to live in gospel community, not as isolated individuals. For only where individuals and communities are willing to love and to minister to others, do we find in each other the nourishing power of Christ’s presence.

Therefore, let the lonely and hurt understand their need to welcome others in charity in however small or great means open to them, rather than to remain trapped in isolation or self-pity. However if they remain isolated, we offer You their pain, united with the atoning loneliness of Your own earthly exile, in reparation for all sins against compassion, against friendship, justice and unity.

Jesus let us gently bring Your love to the lonely, to all persons who hunger for love and companionship. “God gives the lonely a permanent home.” [Psalm 68:6]

Lord, please help the lonely to find joy in your resurrection and deep peace in your presence. Please put loving people in their lives and shower them with your love. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer.

Merciful Lord, please embrace our brothers and sisters who have no earthly family—through death, separation, alienation, or displacement. Give them opportunities for a satisfying life. Allow them companionship with others, and lead them by avenues that will give them eternal communion with the family of Heaven.

Deepen our awareness of human fraternity with everyone, so that we may convey to anyone—who may have no close family, nor any particular attachments—that we are brothers and sisters in Christ, and that they are lovable and loved persons.

On this festive day where family togetherness is all around them yet not theirs, please let them find welcome and company. And grant them personal experience of Your love and of their unity with humankind.
