Re: CAF Curmudgeons: Grumpy in Australia
Children mutate at age 13 to 14. An alien steals their brains and personalities and may not give them back for 10 years or so. Society used to help by contributing a restraining influence, but now it just "eggs" ( ) them on. I suspect a good deal of time in Purgatory is taken off by dealing with one's teenage kids. I had some luck with persuading police officers that I would take care of various things myself, but YMMV. It depends on the officer and situation. Very sorry about the job situation. I will pray that it results in something better.

This is true. Actually I think that what happens is that their brains experience a hard drive crash, and they forget everything they were ever taught - it seems as if they have to start over again from scratch.

Re: CAF Curmudgeons: Grumpy in Australia
I like teenagers. They are fun. Teenage boys are especially fun. I currently have 2. I used to have 3. Then one turned 20. He is still pretty alright, though.

Re: CAF Curmudgeons: Grumpy in Australia
If you are making a red velvet cake, and the mixer is somehow set to "high" when you plug it in, the result is remarkably like a crime scene. Don't ask.

I've never seen a crime involving cake....unless you substitute salt for sugar.
