Lots of bans?
I just skimmed through a thread a few months old and of the 10 participants 4 are banned. Are there a lot of bans?

That is a good question. I hope those that were banned for spammers but not for what they believed in.
A healthy debate is a wonderful way of evangelizing.

No one is banned for what they believe in.
They are usually banned for bad behavior.

Re: Lots of bans?
One thing that will incur a ban as soon as it is discovered is the creation of a new user in an attempt to circumvent a ban. Some threads have multiple users banned that really represent one person who keeps coming back under a new identity. The moderators have ways of tracking this involving URL's, urim and thummim (I think).

Greetings Pnewton,
Isn't that what they mean by "sock puppeting?" I have never really understood the term.
God Bless.

What Pnewton described are serial accounts, each one created only after the prior account was closed down.
Sock-puppeting basically requires having several accounts at the same time, and pretending that each one is a unique person. Doing that much is okay. The sock-puppeting occurs when the person controlling the accounts has the different accounts join in the same discussion thread to lend the appearance of more support for a point of view than it actually has.

Greetings Dale_M,
Oh okay thanks for explaining that term to me. It's so nice not to be ignorant.
God Bless.
