Question Trying to figure out where God wants me

I have a problem One that most would consider to be a very good problem. I currently working as an HR Assistant part time 20 hours a week at a job very close to my home. This gives me the flexibility to pick up my kids (we have 3) and take care of things as needed but with less income. Recently I have been offered a full time position making more and one that is an advancement in my career. Its about 20 mins away vs. 5 mins away. My problem is this. I dont know if I should take the job. I really like my current boss....best one Ihave ever had but she can't guarantee me that they will keep me on as I am working on a temp/perm basis and we really need to have atleast that coming in financially. She said it is a permament position but they just cant get it approved yet, that was 2 months ago. This worries me which is why I started looking in the first place. this other job came out of no where. In fact I interviewed at 10 am and they offered it to me at 2 pm that day. I just can't figure out where God wants me. I dont like the idea of losing the flexibility and time with my kids but the added financial security would certainly help our family especially with this economy. Its hard to get a good job where I live. I have prayed and prayed but I am just not getting it. I am one of those people that has to be hit over the head sometimes to realize something though. I would love to here how others make tough decisions like this one.

In all honesty, you alone can make that decision, and it must be done with your family. Try and discuss this with your husband and see what happens from there. You have to remember that the path that leads you to Christ is the one that you should take. We always need security and certainty that our decisions are God inspired. If you have prayed so much about it, try not to feel a sense of confusion, rather, try and figure out whether you are increasing your desire for the job and whether you are growing in love for Christ, because many people pray for a particular thing and once they receive the answer, they no longer return to prayer. If your devotion to Our Lord is increasing as a result of your desire for this job, I think that is a sign that the Lord is confirming your desire. Sometimes what is convenient for us is not the most appropriate path, in other situations it is. It really all depends on the situation which only you can work out.

Anyway, I'll pray for you, and I hope you make the right decision.

God Bless.

If you have a temp job now, I'd give the full time job a look. I'd take what I could get, if it were me.

I was working for a temp company driving a forklift for a while. Now the only job I could get was just recently, and only working 10 hr a week at 8/hr.

I have a bachelor's degree in biology and am certified to teach secondary education. I've been unemployed and trying for a job for 5 months and have a clean record. I must have sent out hundreds upon hundreds of applications for anything from KFC worker to Federal Interdisciplinary Scientist. Nothing. I mean, absolutely nothing came through. Not even part time, except the one I just got 2 weeks ago at a grocery store. I live in the vicinity of the DC metro area, too!

You're lucky. I'd definitely jump for that job.

Pray about it. Maybe fast, too. For me, the fact that the job you have now is a temp to hire would be the no-brainer part. You can never rely on a temp job.
