Should we be standing during and after communion?
I am confused! Our local diocese has recently instructed us to remain standing throughout the communion service all the way to the end of mass. We used to kneel or sit to pray when we came back from communion and would sit when the priest sat down. Now we are told we can no longer do that, but to stand.
However, when I went up to my parents at Christmas, the diocese there has been instructing their parishioners to either kneel or sit after communion. The funny thing is, they used to stand throughout communion all the way to the end of mass! Now they are told not to.
So which diocese is right? I saved the instruction booklet from my parents' diocese, which is clearly giving the opposite instructions from my diocese. Should I inform our diocese of this, do you think? These are all related to the new text of the NO mass, btw.
