Could we get a new feature for new members?
Is there any way that a pop-up could show for new members as soon as they join (the kind they need to click before it goes away) that explains NOT to resurrect old threads? We've had a lot of new members doing that lately and it always seems to be with controversial threads that gratefully died out before the mods had to close them.

Re: Could we get a new feature for new members?
I do know on this particular computer (my normal one is in the shop being reparied) it runs IE6 and Windows 98. There have been times when I got to post in one thread, and it replies in a dead thread. I have to watch it each time it posts to see that it posts correctly. There has been one instance where I was not aware that it had done so, until I got jokes about I should be Anathema Sit because I ressurcted an old thread by mistake.
Perhaps some of these new members are doing it by mistake as well. Usually a kind word in the thread will clue them in as to what they are doing or a kind Personal Message.
It sure did me.

Anathema, it sounds like your old kludge of a computer is on life support!

Greetings Odile53,
Sure is better using this one than not having to get on Catholic Answers Forum at all. It does get frustrating at times, but I know that the day is coming when I won't have to use this computer again, but I'll always keep it just in case. <keeps fingers crossed>
God Bless,
Anathama Sit
