Favorite Soup on a Cold Wintry Day
It's cold and windy today in New York City and we're having soup for lunch. I love Tabatchnick's soups, the closest thing to homemade, and in particular yankee bean, split pea, and Tuscany lentil varieties. In the distant past, I've tried onion soup at Maxim's in Paris, and can still taste it, as it was so delicious! And I've heard nothing satisfies on a wintry day like home-cooked clam chowder. So what's your favorite soup?

A good crab bisque but I'm a firm believer in soup all year round and ice cream as well

Chicken Chili aka White Bean Chili is a favorite. Beef Chili is good too. I also like Chicken Noodle, Chicken Rice or Chicken and Dumplings too.

The Vietnamese pronunciation sounds something like phuh-uh with a slight questional inflection at the end. It is NOT pronounced phoh as in "foe."
It has anise flavoring and you add in basil, cilantro, lime and hot sauce as desired. It is the Vietnamese equivalent of Jewish chicken soup - good for what ails 'ya.
