Free or almost Free?
Hi,
I am looking for some free or almost free prayer cards to hand out to people in nursing homes, hospitals, and shut-ins. Bookmarks with with biblical quotes on them would also be great. Autom.com has some for 6 cents, but I would like a nice variety. Any suggestions?

Re: Free or almost Free?
I had this idea long ago, but never followed up with it. I went around the church and took pictures of much of the artwork, statues, altar, etc. with the idea that I would make a slideshow for people who couldn't come to church. I thought about making a Way of the Cross themed slideshow for lent. What if you did the same thing, and printed your own prayer cards with images from your own parish? Card stock is relatively inexpensive, and the biggest cost would probably be your ink.
Just an idea...

Re: Free or almost Free?
Funny, I just ordered holy cards from Autom just this morning. I was wondering the same thing - is there anywhere else to get them that cheap or even cheaper?
p.s. Autom also has some for five cents.

Autom has a huge variety. And their quality is good. And they are cheap. I don't know that you will find them any cheaper.

Try this site, I think they have them for 2-3 cents apiece. Just a caveot though, I have not seen their cards and this may be an SSPX site. I haven't explored it very much but kind of stumbled upon it.

Re: Free or almost Free?
At 15c each the ones on this site ( http://www.totallycatholic.com/) are quite a lot more, but they are lovely - I have not yet been disappointed by anything I have bought there.

Printer ink is very expensive. Much cheaper to buy cards for $.06/ea than try to print your own.

Re: Free or almost Free?
Ask the Parish Office if they will put a little line in the bulletin "So and so is accepting donations of holy cards to distribute at nursing homes." place a box in the back of church or in the office to collect them. We do this often for various ministries and are always amazed at the outpouring of items donated.

Thanks for your suggestion. I have done that and am now receiving a few that way.

Try TAN Books.....I heard they were giving free prayer cards (on Radio, and there is another publisher doing this also, just forgot it).
