Default Prayers for my husband

My husband has been having some heart problems. He is scheduled for a heart cath. on Monday Feb. 27th. He is scared for he is obese and thinks he could die during the procedure. He is also on coumadin so he thinks he could bleed to death. Of course, he has to be off of coumadin (a blood thinner) for five days prior to the procedure and after too. He has to have these injections instead. He keeps having these chest pain and he gets cold and sweaty and clammy skin. The cardiologist knows this and that is why the cath. was scheduled. He had another episode last night. I got up and checked his pulse which was very weak. I took his blood pressure and it was normal and the machine took his pulse as well and it was okay. We did not call 911 this time for he did the last two other times and they did EKG's and they were normal. I told him that is why the doctor is doing the cath. for he may have a blockage somewhere in his heart. His diet is terrible. Anyway, please pray for him to survive the procedure. I hear him on the phone with his dad and mother and he keeps repeating how a friend of his who was also morbidly obese went into open heart surgery from the procedure due to what they found. So he knows this could happen too.

Thanks in advance for your prayers.

Are you aware that he may received the Sacrament of the Sick?

Wouldn't do any harm for him to swing by the rectory and go to Confession, then receive the Sacrament. That way, if he goes, at least he has his "bags packed." Also, being prepared that way lessens the fear which could cause trouble during the procedure, etc.

Just a piece of friendly advice!

Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary,
that never was it known,
that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help, or sought your intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
though burdened by my sins,
I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To you I come, before you I stand,
sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions, but in your mercy,
hear and answer me.
Amen.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist and a guy his age not much to worry about..in regards to the procedure all the same, I would be anxious too, give the big guy a hug for me and let him know I am praying for him.

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,

Amen.
