Hello, can you provide some quotes. Are these reports from Zen tradition? I had to look up satori and it comes up: Satori and kensho are commonly translated as enlightenment, a word that is also used to translate bodhi, prajna and buddhahood.
Insofar as the mind affecting the body physically, yes, this happens. People can get marks on their skin from being under stress. Also, I heard Bishop Sheen once mention a nun who had been kidnapped (?) and suffered much and after her horrible experience she would sweat blood. I think that is what would happened to her. Bishop Sheen spoke about how much Jesus suffered to have sweat blood.
I can see how the mind can affect the nerves and he nerves affect the skin, and even the sweating of blood, but, for mental anguish or control to make a body have the wounds of Christ - no.
To begin to understand why a saint would have the wounds of Christ would be a better use of time. The spirituality is beautiful, profound and enriching.
