Default Some prayer needed..and some advice to boot.

Hey Guys. It's selfish to ask but I need some prayer and help. I guess I need to explain my situation.

While, I take great "pride" knowing that I'm more knowledgeable about my faith than I did before, it pains me to say that I'm relatively new at taking my faith seriously. After much spiritual confusion and dabbling into other faiths, I decided to reaffirm my faith in Jesus Christ and the church he build- The Roman Catholic Church.

Still, I have to admit, I have the occasional doubts. A part of this is my need to learn more information about my faith and those of others in order to defend Jesus Christ and help other people that were in my situation as well (Apologetics played a huge part in my "reconversion"). So naturally, the occasional doubts seep into my mind. I remember someone in this forum describing people in my situation as a soldier; always keeping on the faith no matter how doubtful or tiring it seems (if anybody knows what I'm referring to, I would appreciate it if they message it to me ).

So can you guys pray for me and ask God to give me the spiritual strength to overcome this doubt?

Lord, please grant demiwolf wisdom, knowledge, understanding, counsel, fortitude, piety, and fear of the Lord. Help him/her to persevere in faith and in every good work. When he/she begins to doubt may he/she make an act of faith and pray "Jesus, I trust in you" or Lord, I believe; help my unbelief." Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer.

You are in my prayers.

As for advice, I would recommend continuing with your apologetics and intellectual pursuits of your faith, but also to consider increasing the spiritual side of your faith. A couple things I've done recently to strengthen this aspect with much spiritual profit includes regular weekly fasting and daily Mass. Also, if I may also humbly add reading sacred Scripture without "intellectual" engagement - e.g. just pray and reflect on the Word. Above all, trust in God's plan for you and be patient with yourself.

I hope this helps.

God bless,
Bryan

Lord Jesus, You have said, "Learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart." With confidence in Your loving heart which offers rest to weary souls, we come to You in this time of special need. In Your unfailing love, read the prayer that is written on our hearts, and grant the grace that we ask of You, in accordance with Your holy will. In Your name we pray. Amen.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, and sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother, to thee I come, before thee I stand sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate! Despise not my petitions, but, in thy mercy, hear and answer me. Amen.
