Re: Our Next President
Romney - he has the best chance of beating Obama. I also believe he could turn around our economy. On the other issue - supreme court justices, foreign policy, etc. I believe he is solid.

Re: Our Next President
It is surprising to me, given what Obama and his administration have been up to, that nearly a third of respondents cast their straw vote for him in this poll.

Re: Our Next President
I said Romney. I like Santorum, but I don't think he's presidential material. That being said, if he's against Obama, I'm voting for him. Better Romney over Santorum, but better Santorum over Obama.

i think santorum is a really nice and moral man, however, i think he is too conservative for a lot of Americans. he doesn't have the experience like romney does. so, i too think that romney has the best chance of seeing that our current president is not re-elected. i think some day, after becoming more seasoned and experienced, rick santorum would make a good candidate for president. i am not saying that romney is not moral or nice, he seems like a good family man and i know he understand the hard knocks of the business world.
i think he would be good for our economy too.

  You're too funny!
P.S. Re poll results: Is there no one around here who makes over $200,000? Romney could use some help.

I agree with you on Santorum - this primary process has taught him a lot about campaigning. He is relatively young. Even if Romney were to do 2 terms he could run in 2020 as he'd be only 61 years old. Or if Romney loses, he'd be in a position to run in 2016. I like Santorum. One of the criticisms I have of him is that he sometimes does not come across as presidential. On paper, I probably agree with him on most issues, but I do not think this year is his time.

Re: Our Next President
I will take Romney over Obama anyday but...
As to political experience:
Romney served one 4 year term as Governor.
Santorum:
Served in the U.S. House of Representatives for 4 years
and
Served as a U.S. Senator for 8 years.
He was the third-ranking Republican in the Senate
He was chairman of the Senate Republican Conference
He served 8 years on Senate Armed Services Committee
He served on the the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs; the Senate Special Committee on Aging; and the Senate Finance Committee
As to age: Santorum (53) is 3 years older than Obama(50).

Re: Our Next President
I wouldn't count Santorum out at all.
And at the end of the day as long as Obama goes, I'm content.

As to experience relevant to the situation: Santorum is a career politican. Romney has experience in the private sector - turning around the Olympics and other businesses. He has real-world experience as opposed to Santorum's debate experience.
