Because some so called Catholics do not give real consideration to what the Church teaches on the principals of voting. Whether they realize it or not, a vote for Barack Obama at the ballot box means they have constituted remote material cooperation or material cooperation with evil, depending on the voter's reasons for voting.
GetReligion classifies the 'Catholic Vote' as this:
Quote:
Ex-Catholics. Solid for the Democrats. GOP has no chance.
Cultural Catholics who may go to church a few times a year. This may be an undecided voter — check out that classic Atlantic Monthly tribes of American religion piece — depending on what is happening with the economy, foreign policy, etc. Leans to Democrats.
Sunday-morning American Catholics. This voter is a regular in the pew and may even play some leadership role in the parish. This is the Catholic voter that is really up for grabs, the true swing voter that the candidates are after.
The “sweats the details” Roman Catholic who goes to confession. Is active in the full sacramental life of the parish and almost always backs the Vatican, when it comes to matters of faith and practice. This is where the GOP has made its big gains in recent decades, but it is a very small slice of the American Catholic pie.

Simply, you have properly catechized Catholics - they won't vote for pro abortion, religious liberty impinging candidates. As the article says, the data shows the link between weekly mass attendance and not voting for a political party which opposes important Catholic teaching.

Every cycle, someone will bring up a candidate's business experience as being somehow "better" than "political" experience as qualification for high office.
That does not really make sense, IMNAAHO, because the US of A is not a business. Not only is it not intended to make a profit; citizens are not employees.
The POTUS is and will always be a politician. Nothing can change that.

Re: Our Next President
Since there's no way Ron Paul can win, I'd like to see Barack Obama re-elected. Don't get me wrong, I believe Obama is the worst president in my lifetime, but he'll do the best job of galvanizing opposition to this corrupt government. Someone like Romney getting elected just means that people will be instilled with all kinds of false hope, as we slowly cook to death like the proverbial frog in the pot of water on the stove.

That's an interesting reasoning process there. I can't think there are very many "I can't get Paul so I'll go with Obama" voters.
I would guess that the vast majority of Paul voters would grudgingly go for Romney or simply not vote. My MIL is for Paul but she is going to sit this one out.

I've seen public polls used here before, but yeah it seems pretty rare for some reason.

It's kind of a pointless distinction, though, since the ones voting for Obama are already Cultural Catholics by virtue of that very fact. It's not as if going to mass every Sunday would negate their cooperation with grave evil.

I don't understand why Ron Paul was not included on the list.

That's one of the options in creating a poll when you open a thread. It does have a tendency to decrease participation, especially among those who don't feel their answers would be politically correct in the audience reading and posting on that thread. As a result, it makes the poll results even more unreliable than typical internet polls.

Since the government is the biggest employer in the country now, I think your statement may be false.

It still does not make a profit, and the POTUS' citizens are not his employees.

Re: Our Next President
I don't see how anyone who even remotely claims to be catholic could have voted or will vote for Obama given his clearly laid out agendas?
I want Santorum but I think Romney will win out. That being the case I will vote for anyone up against Obama.

Probably was just a mistake not to include Ron Paul.
I think I created a poll before, I don't think I ever say the option to show members names.
