Forum to share WHY you became Catholic
Someone recently PMd me their conversion story and it is so lovely I thought there really ought to be a forum just for these kind of testimonies. I firmly believe that one's personal testimony is often the best form of apologetics and evangelisation.
My suggestion would be that this would be a closed forum for people to post only their Catholic conversion story , no comments allowed by others.
As an aside , I considered posting this as a new thread in Appologetics and will gladly do so if you think this is the best place for it. That is if I can figure out how to do it. The whole process is still a bit of a mystery to me. I have had PMs saying people like my posts in existing forums but I am clueless how to start anything.

I really like your idea! I am a convert and my anniversary is this Saturday...14 years...and never a regret. Let me know where we post when/if you find out, I'd be happy to tell my story!

happy anniversary to you and all who entered the Church through the most beautiful Holy Saturday Easter vigil. Me too 4 years ago and it still brings me to tears every time I attend to see others entering at the Easter vigil.

Re: Forum to share WHY you became Catholic
I guess it's ok to start this, huh? I'll go. LOL. Well, as my sig says, I came into the church in 2009 on the Feast of Corpus Christi. Prior to this I had floated somewhere between whatever protestant group friends were involved with, no religion/spirituality, atheism, and/or paganism. I figured out at some point that Jesus was the answer, and though I grew up in church, I didn't know a thing about him. At the prompting of my wife (who doesn't really have a belief system), who said, "If you're going to be a Christian, you should at least be a Catholic since it's the oldest church," I decided to investigate. Something about what she said just made sense. The more I looked into it, the more I realized that all the teachings of the Church, the true Church I came to see, made sense. All my questions were answered, some with more difficulty than others, of course. Now, I can't say that I know Jesus much more than before, but I do know I'm in the right place to learn. If I can ever get past this being a mere intellectual excercise for me, then watch out! LOL. Anyway, that's about it!

Re: Forum to share WHY you became Catholic
I was received into the church last Easter Vigil. What a wonderful experience. I was always religious but always believed there was more than what I was taught. After my daughter was born and life took a new turn I knew I had to as well. My daughter and I started to go to mass weekly and I knew in my heart I found the right place for both of us. I am blessed to have found a parish that was so warm and welcoming. I pray that more people can have the feeling of "being home" like I do.

You could start a group for this, and have people post their stories there, it would be more permanent. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear how people have come home.

Do you really think a group is necessary? This is meant to be a one time post thing for people not a discussion. I really am looking for suggestions as to under what forum this would be appropriate. I was hoping for some 'senior' advice. To those who have already posted their story .... sorry hold that thought I would like to get it under the proper title and place.

Re: Forum to share WHY you became Catholic
Hope you found it . On my screen on the main forums page where all forums are listed if you look to the left you see a list of all the different forum main topics. Or I guess you could do a search.
