Looking for Information about Krogers Grocery Stores
Yesterday, I heard that the local Krogers stores were not allowing Knights of Columbus to
request donations for the annual "Tootsie Roll" drive.
I am a member of the Knights of Columbus and would like to contact any stock holders of Krogers that are Roman Catholic and/or members of the Knights of Columbus.
I used to love to shop at Krogers., but no longer. This decision was like a kick in the gut to me.
Thank you,
Terry Ypsilanti

Re: Looking for Information about Krogers Grocery Stores
Many stores have similar policies regarding solicitations outside their doors. Walmart comes to mind. The local store owned by Kroger (Foods Co) also does. As I understand, they apply the policy indiscriminately (meaning every organization that applies to solicit donations outside their door would be similarly turned down). Sometimes an organization will post people outside the door anyway. When they do, I usually see signs at the door informing customers that the solicitors are there with out permission and requesting shoppers to ignore them.

Re: Looking for Information about Krogers Grocery Stores
The Kroger website indicates that they allow Salvation Army bellringers, so I don't know why the company would ban the KofC. I wonder if perhaps a rogue store manager is to blame?
Why not contact the company and find out for sure? The phone number and email contact forms can be found here:
http://www.kroger.com/help/Pages/contact_us.aspx
(scroll about halfway down for Company policy inquiry.)

Re: Looking for Information about Krogers Grocery Stores
There is a thread at the COL forum with the details on this.
