Post count doesn't seem to be working
Greetings in Christ,
I apologize if this is the wrong place, but I think the rules say I can ask about usage questions here.
I have been trying to find out if there is something wrong with the number of posts being counted for me.
Yesterday I was in the forum, posting quite awhile, from 2pm until about ten or ten thirty pm. It looks as it it stopped counting my posts for a long time, as it look like it stopped at 867 posts. This is the number on the right side at the top of all my posts. Around ten pm or so it seemed to only move to a count of 868.
Is there a way to check on this? I have tried looking under "My Posts" and trying to figure this out, but I am sorry to say I don't understand why the count seem to have frozen.
At one point, I was on the TOP POSTERS list, and although it said I had posted about 49 times, my count didn't reflect that. I may have made more than 49 posts, but I can't be sure now.
I would be grateful for any solutions or advice on this. I posted this question somewhere but just received a link to the forums, so I posted this under "Bugs."
Grateful for a solution,
Yours,
Kathryn Ann

As of right now, your post count is 877. I suggest you reply to me and see if it goes up.
I did an Advanced Search on Kathryn Ann from yesterday and it indicates that you made 49 posts yesterday. That is a lot of posts in one day, but you apparently think you posted more than that, right? Apparently, you want to be a Top Poster. Is it possible you are making posts just to make that list? If so, I think that is against forum rules, so maybe posts have been removed?
Nope. Even if posts are removed, I think they are counted, so I don't think I can help. Sorry. Maybe you are just mistaken on the number of posts you made yesterday?

I'm home recovering from stage two metatastic cancer surgery with a series of very large, painful skin grafts and was in bed enjoying the forums yesterday from about 2 pm to after ten pm. Sometimes it is all I have and I appreciate all the discussions and prayers people have said for me Who knows, with the pain meds I'm on if I'm seeing things correctly.
I would never wish to be a "Top Poster," as most of mine are very lengthy and people who know me see that I often enjoy replying in great detail. So, I'm a bit surprised at your suggestion, but I appreciate your checking it out for me. I wouldn't have posted the question three times in separate forums, to an Admin., and publicly if I was merely seeking numbers. I just thought something was stuck for a long time and wondered about it. Now, back to the forums I go.

I'm sorry I misunderstood your reference to the Top Poster list and also if I offended you by mentioning it. Since you mentioned it, I thought perhaps you were seeking to be on the list. It wasn't meant in a negative way. Some people enjoy competition in that way and I don't see it as a bad thing, though the forum doesn't allow it, probably for technical reasons. Some of the game threads would fall into that category, so I don't understand how they are different from succinct posts. Anyway, I do apologize for any misunderstanding.
It looks like your post counts are going up now, so I guess the problem has been solved? It would seem so.
God bless you and prayers for your speedy recovery!

I really am sorry, Kathryn Ann. I misunderstood your reference to the Top Poster list. Since you mentioned it, I thought it was important to you to be on it and I wanted to caution you about post counts.
I'm sorry. I didn't understand and I didn't mean to offend or upset you. I was just trying to figure out what was up. I'm sorry.

Thank you SwizzleStick, that's all right. I'm a bit sensitive I think since I've been in recovery and I didn't mean to be that way at all. I appreciate your prayers very much. Yes, I wonder why they even have a top posters thing anyway! I've been on the forums for years and just noticed it! I hate competition, and especially now, as it would make me very nervous.
I am really enjoying today's new questions on the forums. There are so many people who come here who I sense are very drawn to the Church! It's a wonderful place to encourage them to keep inquiring, I believe. It's a sacred thing, to be patient and answer questions. How else will they feel they have a safe place to inquire?
I hope I am getting better day by day. I like feeling part of things on the forums when I can't get out that much (except for post op surgical appointments!) God is great though, and certainly the Great Physician and Healer.
Blessings and Peace to you,
Kathryn

Thank you for your kindness and understanding, Kathryn Ann! You are so sweet! I look forward to seeing you around the forums! May God bless you! I'm praying for your speedy and complete recovery!
Prayer for Healing
Lord, You invite all who are burdened to come to you. Allow Your healing hand to heal Kathryn Ann. Touch her soul with Your compassion for others; touch her heart with Your courage and infinite Love for all; touch her mind with Your Wisdom, and may her mouth always proclaim Your praise. Teach her to reach out to You in all her needs, and help her to lead others to You by her example. Most loving Heart of Jesus, bring her health in body and spirit that she may serve You with all her strength. Touch gently this life which you have created, now and forever. Amen.

You are most welcome, Kathryn Ann! The prayer came from Catholic.org. (When I quote something, I quote in blue.) I love the prayers I find there!
As far as closing the thread, I'll see what I can do by contacting a mod. I hope to see you around the forums too!
May He who blesses us all, bless you abundantly!

I, for one, am SO GLAD that you are here, Kathryn Ann! I enjoy your posts whenever I see them. You speak from the and with such joy ... How you manage that while you are recovering and I know that your husband is also in chemotherapy... Well, it's an inspiration.
God bless you.
