Aside from what Dcngman stated, to compare God or even our religion to the likes of Loki is just plain horrid (not to mention makes no sense).

Besides, even if you're picking up, it's doubtful that your interpretation will reign absolute. This is film. One interpretation is no more superior than the other. (And in my opinion, I find interpretations like yours bordering on the fringe.)

Otherwise, I did absolutely love the movie! Love that it was uncomplicated by sexual tension and crude humor.

I addressed that in my blog. I'm glad to see someone else picked up on it!

I loved some of the comic relief.
I also went to be polite. Our son wanted to see it, and since I had nothing better to do, I went with him.

It was wonderful to sit there and not be blasted with sexual scenes.

And I actually enjoyed it.

"God, ma'am". It fits with his patriotic military background (a soldier always addresses with "sir" or "ma'am", and he was talking to Black Widow).

Frankly I thought the Avengers would be a poor film. These rave reviews are surprising me to no end. Its currently 25 on IMDB's top 250 movies of all time . I am sure it will go down but I really wasn't expecting this at all. Heck it made more money in its opening weekend then any film has ever made. Of course that isn't taking inflation and such into account, still impressive. I want to see it now but I'll be waiting for it to go to the dollar show.

I am wondering now how the Dark Knight Rises will do compared to the Avengers.

We went at 4:15, "Super Saver" ticket time. We have been to see movies at this time before and we were the only ones in the theater.

The theater was PACKED. There couldn't have been 20 seats empty, none of them together. I couldn't believe it.

Okay, Harvard.

I just saw the movie yesterday. I haven't seen The Hulk or Thor or Capt America. Who the heck is the guy on the left? Or maybe I don't know the two on the left.

Its Chris Evens aka Captain America. He cut his hair and grew a beard though I don't know why lol.

I am not a big comic book fan so I really didn't realize how big of a deal the avengers is whether or not its a good movie. Its never been done before.

I am still trying to find out how black widow and hawkeye fit in with a team of superheros.

this film was spiritually garbage. Many of these comic book superheros are in fact, repackaged occult for the children. But this movie really was awesome! lol

But think about... Thor. The god of thunder. You know there were devout Nazi's who literally prayed and worshiped Thor...

I think its all good fun. Some people probably get carried away with it but I don't think its the fault of the movie. There are people who take the force literally and call themselves jedi yet that doesn't mean Star Wars is bad.

Spiderwoman, you mean blackwidow? The two characters just seem really out of place. Highly trained or whatever can't really compare to the powers Thor possesses.

If Thor is the standard then neither can Captain America stand for long against such power. However Thor or the Hulk were not the ultimate enemy. An alien army with slightly better technology then we have were. Hawkeye and Blackwidow, when not doing their spying were little different the the Howling Commandos who joined Captain America to fight Hydra during WWII.
