Default Please pray for our priest who is leaving ....

Fr. Anthony . He shared that he was informed that he was leaving both the high school he worked for 17 years, and the parish he said mass for 11 years. He done nothing wrong too. Leaving 2 places after being there for a long time must be hard on him and to those that he has known and helped during his ministry . Please pray for him that he may have the strength to accept and do God's will in all things, even when it's hard to do. Also please pray that may he know how appreciative everyone is for his faithful priestly service to the flock.

Change is hard. And it is part of life.
In my diocese Pastor's are appointed to a 6-year term and can ask to stay for another 6-year term, but then they must move on.
Parish priests are appointed to terms of 1 to 3 years.
So don't think that your priest is being "punished". Maybe his gifts are needed elsewhere.
It is always tough on the parish, at first, and all one can really do is pray that God's will be done.

I will pray for you & Fr. Anthony in a special way tonight.
Peace be with you on your journey.

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Remember, O most pure spouse of Mary, and my dearly beloved guardian, St. Joseph, that never was it known that anyone who invoked your care and requested your help was left without consolation.

Inspired with this confidence, I come to you, and with all the ardor of my spirit I commend myself to you. Do not reject my prayer, O Foster Father of the Savior, but graciously receive and answer it. Amen.
