Prayers for spending more time with Catholics my age

Hi,

Most of my time I am with other people it is with those who are at least decades older than me. One of the people I probably spend the most time with is over 80. I have no problem with older people, but I really need to find ways to spend more time socializing with Catholics who are around my age. Please pray for youth to avoid being lukewarm. Ask the Holy Ghost to inspire us with piety and fervor as well as interest in practicing our faith. But pray that I find more opportunities to socialize and befriend Catholics who are my age. I rarely see any one of college age in my home parish, and I need to be more attentive to the pastoral needs of those my age. Pray that priests are able to inspire great devotion to Christ, and to our Lady on this Mother's Day, and to dispel any lukewarmness among the youth generations, especially those in college. Pray that insight into Christian friendship is bestowed in today's Gospel reading, and the homilies of each pastor at ever Parish throughout the world. Please pray that pastors increase a sense of Catholic Christian fellowship and communion in faith among young Catholics, especially college students, so that they desire to base their relationships with each other primarily on Christ, and not prioritize anyone or anything else over Him.

If you know any patron saints of youth, or college students, etc. please let me know, and offer prayers for their intercession for youth as well. I am going to try to focus now on strengthening my young brothers and sisters in the faith because they will need the strength of the Holy Ghost to be able to proclaim the truth of the faith and give reasons to others for their hope.

Yes meeting Catholics of my own age would be nice. As the OP said most everyone im able to talk with are well older than me.

Dear Lord,
Please strengthen the faith of your people so that they may better serve as witnesses to your glory. Please help them to build community and spread your Word wherever they may be... wherever they may go. May they find friends who share their beliefs, may they find friends who share their ideals, may they be friends to those who have yet to find their way to You. May their longing to build relationship with fellow believers in their age group be fulfilled in accordance with your Holy Will and may their quest for this build your kingdom. Please oint them to new opportunities-study groups in other parishes, pro-life communities, retreats and pilgrimages where they may discover and celebrate the love that others have for you and meet new friends. Help them to realize that they are never truly alone and guide their restless hearts towards yourself, even as they reach out to others. Amen.

I know how you feel. In my Parish Catholics come in seemingly two speeds: 1. Young in body, old in spirit. 2. Old in body, young in spirit. We had a couple girls my age today, but they were from the foggy shadow-land affectionately referred to as "Away."

We might also pray to the Patron Saint of Evengelisation, as the youth 'churches' that spring up like fennel every summer steal the kids away. Most of my friends belong to such establishments. But I suppose that topic is another thread, eh?

Good St. Dominic Savio, Patron of youth, please intercede for Joshua and hear his prayer intention. Obtain from our Lord for him an answer to his prayer. May he be able to make some friends that are his age and enjoy good Catholic fellowhsip with them. Amen.
