Hi All,

I have been a member of Southern Baptist Churches all my life. I am beginning to feel that somethings just not "right". There are so many different denominations in the Protestant religion and all think they are right.

I guess I am just searching for the truth. I am trying to learn about the Catholic Church now. I have some friends that say they are Catholic. (I have actually been trying to convert them but I think I know more about their church than they do.

I was always taught that we are saved by faith only and not works but It seems that there are a lot of people in my church that say they are saved but sure don't act any different from the "world"

Anyway I guess I am just looking for the truth. Thanks.

Hi Everyone,

I am a happily married Catholic who has been going through a profound growth of faith over the last few months. I was quite involved in Catholic online discussions many years ago and even founded one of the popular Catholic forums on what was then known as the "Prodigy" online service during the mid-1990,s.

I am currently attending mass several times a week and find that this helps me to focus on my spiritual growth. Also, I must admit that our large Parrish has been blessed with some very wonderful priests during the last year, as well as a Monsignor who has really been inspirational for me.

I have appreciated and honored the Catholic faith for many years, but find that I am currently on a spiritual journey that is almost scary in the fact that I am not sure what God wants me to do, but I know I will only be able to achieve his will through the blessing of his Holy Spirit.

I hope many of you will pray for my journey as I will for you.

-Louis

Hi everyone!
I'm somewhat of an atheist...now most of you, will ask me why I would subscribe to such a forum if it's not part of my beliefs. Well, it just so happens that even though I don't believe in the bible (or any other religion). I believe the bible teaches great morals (for the most part). I also believe in a higher power though, I can't say where, how and what it is.
I'm mostly here to give my opinions and engage in interesting conversations and healthy debates where I can get both sides of your opinion.
Needless to say I'm very interested in psychology.

Maybe I should mention I was on a ton of meds before. For Spondylitis, "suicide migraines", gastric issues, nausea, juvenile arthritis and hidradenitis suppurativa. Since I quit all the meds and now only use a creation of god for all my pains and problems. I am also only 23yo.

He did create a flawed human but did successfully create many wonderful and beautiful things.

I'll leave you with my one and only quote from the bible: And God said..." I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. ..And to every beast of the earth.. I have given every green herb for meat... " Genesis 1:29-30

Ok, dropping in to introduce myself. I was born and raised Catholic but dropped out 20 years ago. I am back again and am enjoying mass most everyday, completely enjoying learning what I never learned growing up. Apart from the knowing, I have had need of feeling the love of our Father desperately recently, which is what brought me back. I went to other churches, and didn't feel the spirit the same. Hard to explain. One place I went I really felt it, but there doctrine wasn't correct. Now I have the correct way ) Looking forward to finding a forum that I can contribute to. My daughter and I are estranged, and prayer and mass are the only thing keeping me halfway sane. But only halfway

Welcome Louis!!!

We are so glad you have joined us!!!

God does call us to continually go deeper and upward. It can be scary to acknowledge that God wants more of us - and to yield to Him!!!

I think you will enjoy the discussions and groups here - there are many interesting and thought provoking ideas. Being open to the working of the Holy Spirit is essential!!!

May God continue to lead, bless and protect you; may He give you wisdom and strength for the journey; and may he bless you with a yielded and broken will to be so close to His perfect will!!!

Hello SunnyHours!!!

We are glad you are here!!! We do have atheists here - sharing in the discussions - mostly on the Non-Catholic Religions forum (it is a little more 'open' there)!!!

So ... look around, interact with love (and we hope and pray that others will interact with love towards you).

Welcome kosuccess!!!

Thank you for sharing!!!

There are many here who have come "home" after a period of time. In the parable of the sower, the seed goes on to rocky ground, good ground, in the weed, etc. - but God can bring the dormant seed back to life!!!

You can ask for prayer for you and your daughter's relationship at the Prayer Intentions forum at: http://forums.catholic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=86

May God wrap you and your daughter in His loving arms; may he give you words of reconciliation and peace, and may He restore that relationship; may he also guide your paths and steps and bless you with His love, joy and deep peace!!!

Bruce

Hi! I am a married Catholic for almost 20 years. My husband is African Methodist but has approved of having our daughter brought up Catholic. We are both very serious about our faiths.
