OK, I just received a pm from Franze. He is online. I just read the changes he made to the Spanish peticion. His changes read really well. So we have a Spanish petition now! We just have to get it on line and ask Franze to send the Spanish letter to various bloggers and small newspapers in Spain.

http://www.petitiononline.com/wyd2005/petition.html

Yeah, and can you believe I'm not even getting paid for that? I worked hard to spread propaganda!

http://www.petitiononline.com/norescue/petition.html

Franze and Fidei, I took out one clause about 'defaming' because that's sort of in and out legally and I think it is enough just saying what the Church says, what Rescate says, and that we think that what the band says is wrong. Since it is my name given as the author of the petition, I do not want to make allegations that I am not prepared to stick by. (Headache prevention)

Franze: ya tenemos una peticion en espanol. Que vamos a hacer entonces?

This is very shameful that this band will be performing. I looked at the petition and it hasn't caught fire yet. If people knew about this they would sign it. I assume the only people on there so far are people who have seen this thread. I would never ask for the CA database as a mailing list but if each of the signers so far sent to a few people maybe it would help. You'd pick "members" from the drop down menu, then signor 1 sends to the active members on members listing page 1, signor two sends an email to active members on page 2 and so on. I hope that wouldn't be stealing the CA database. Include a link to the petition in the email. Just a thought.

I would suggest posting this in several other forums on CA that have more traffic too. The WYD forum is not the busiest and I bet there are other members here who would sign if they knew about it.

Excellent idea, Eden. Can you post two or three 'asides' on some heavy threads? I am going to change my signature to give the petition link and the link to these threads. Some of you out there can consider doing the same.

Meanwhile any of you who post to other message boards, can you give Fidei's letter and the petition link there? Thanks. Ani

I've changed my non-existant signature to help get the word out about the petition. I just checked it now and there are seventy-four at the moment.

UMM! Well if it makes you feel any better, I could sign it but I don't speak Spanish. I can count to 10 though in Spanish.

Are we suppose to sign both?

I don't think so, at least I hope we don't. That would be quite confusing indeed. I think the Spanish one was put up for Spanish speaking people. Someone will clear this up for us!
