This is horrifying to me. I always thought that with the exception of the breasts, the women's body more or less went back to normal after pregnancy.

Having a breast augmentation is one thing, but cutting up and messing with the entire abdominal muscle sounds excruciating. Not something I ever planned on doing before now...

I've really been looking forward to getting to where we need to be financially so that I can finally start having babies, but this whole thing is shying me away big time....

Alot is genetic...how does mom look?

My chest pretty much with no stretchmarks just bigger. I've breast fed for about 6 years combined. I normally never go braless, even to sleep that helps avoid the stretching.

My stomach though, I have stretched connective tissue. My ob says that connective tissue doesn't go back. It's like a streched out elastic.

I can wear control top stockings or spanx and don't look bad.

I'm a size 12 at 43. Sometimes a 10.

My aunt is almost 90. Her hair is still dark brown. I don't have much grey at all.

Is there a way to prevent connective tissue from stretching?

It's cumulative.

I've been pregnant 5 times, so they didn't stretch for my first, just loosened. Also, I guess aging has to do with it. We lose elasticity has we age. (so have them young )

I'm already 26...

Do you think it would be too late if I start when I'm 30 and finish by 35? Is that too old?

My first I was almost 32

My second almost 35

and My last almost 40 (the other two pregnancies resulted in miscarriage. )

My grandmother had her only child in 1934 (my dad) she was 46, and thought she had started menopause....until baby kicked one day.

Really, It doesn't look bad.

I don't wear two piece bathing suits, so no one sees it except DH. It physically feels bad at times, I don't have much support, so my back hurts at times, at times I sort of slouch, It feels better with supportive garments.

You know what, years ago they would say, with every baby you lose a tooth? Now with vitamins and good diet that doesn't happen.

Really losing 5 teeth to me would be more terrible than wearing spanx.

I wouldn't think of doing anything while we're still able to have more, but someday... just having my stomach put back together and things lifted after nursing for so many years? The thought has crossed my mind occasionally (usually when I've lost the pregnancy weight, notice how everything's changed a little more, although this is usually around when I find out I'm pregnant again too!).

And maybe someday I'll get my nose fixed. It got broken quite a few times playing rugby. And a few times just being clumsy and it's a little croaked on the outside and pretty damaged on the inside now. I went to a specialist in college who said I needed surgery, but that he wouldn't do it until I'd sworn off full contact sports forever. I have, but I'm so clumsy I'm afraid I'll just keep breaking it, even without sports...

Those are the ideas I've toyed with... Now whether I'll ever actually act on them...
They remove all the excess skin and belly is flat. There is just a very thin light scar (that followed my c-section scar but longer). I had 4 c-sections and no self now.

I would have my kids all over again even with them messing my body up. They were well worth it. And I had difficult pregnancies with two emergency c-sections and two planned c-sections.

This thread is making me depressed!!

What happened to Catholics growing old gracefully, sacrificing and being open to life. I keep thinking about my mom and how she was kind of fat (but not near obese) after her six babies. Her hair was greying too.
I have fond memories of when all her lady friends would come over for tea. All of them had had many babies, were somewhat overweight but not obese, and their hair was greying.
They were just so happy to get together and chat! They all brought their children along so we could play together while they talked.

My dad would always tell my mom that he loved her just how she was! He told her that he liked that she was soft and had grey hair.

I am 53 now and I am going to grow old gracefully without plastic surgery! My hair is thinning, and I have wrinkles around my eyes. My body is not fat but it is not that toned either. My dh likes it that way. When I stopped worrying about getting old it was freeing.

And yes, our bodies will be transfigured into glorified bodies when we finally hear, "Well done my child, you have ran the race and won the battle!"

Same here. I've never felt so beautiful, although my body is not what it used to be. Diet and exercise do wonders. Also, it is not necessary to pile on lots of weight during pregnancy. Many women stay fit because they are active and eat healthily, and after giving birth get back into shape quickly.

Don't worry about it. Your thin to begin with so you probably wont put on a ton of baby weight. Putting on excessive amounts of weight obviously stretches the skin and stresses out the muscles more. From what I've read on the subject most womens stomach muscles do eventually close. Stretch marks are an issue for some women because of discoloration. I'm pretty sure you could fix that with lasers. My stomach has pretty much gone back to how it was before pregnancy but it took over a year. And of course, a baby is sooo much better than a pretty tummy.

I have had six. No abdominal separation. I was 35 when my youngest (now 2) was born. I broke both bones in my right leg when baby #6 was a month old, and I was in physical therapy for six months. I have been on medication for the past almost two years that prevented me from losing weight after baby, despite exercising. Now, however, I am finally off it and working on getting back into shape. I am still at my 6-7 size, but I hope to improve back to what I had before. Sure, my breasts will never be the same, but there isn't any reason I can't get back into some sort of decent shape. And all the pregnancies have kept my skin young. I have no wrinkles at 37. Sure, my hair is white, but it started turning in my teens. I've been dyeing it since college.

True, but you DID get expensive, painful plastic surgeries to repair the damage....
