Numbers and History!

Hello, this is a game I just made up a few moments ago.

Mechanics is simple.

Give a historical trivia from the above-post's year (you have the freedom to use real-life history or a made-up one, just mention if they are either).

Then you either add or subtract one from any digit in the year, or add / delete one digit from the year given (Adding only for three-digit years).

Example and game starter,

The given year was 1986.

From the example, you can have either:

Subtract one,
0986, 1886, 1976, 1985

Add one,
2986, 2086, 1996, 1987,

Or delete one digit.
186, 196, or 198.

1986: The People Power Revolution in the Philippines was a successful and non-violent protest [REAL-LIFE].
