Where is Jesus now?
I've been wondering, just where is He since He has a body that could be touched and he asked the apostles for something to eat. I know it's glorified but still???
Seems like such a simple question.

Re: Where is Jesus now?
As Catholics, we believe Jesus was taken BODY and soul into Heaven. Same as His and Our beautiful, sweet Mother Mary, whose body He did not want to decay here on Earth, so she was assumed into Heaven body and soul. Jesus' body is not on Earth and never will be again until the 2nd coming...God Bless!!

Re: Where is Jesus now?
I understand He is in Heaven. I guess then the question would be, Where's heaven? I believe heaven is a relationship with God and exactly where that takes place isn't important. What I'm having trouble with is that His physical presence must be somewhere. Where?

Lol!
The answer to the question, "where is Jesus now?" He is at the right hand of the Father.
The next question should be, "where is the Father?" The Father is omnipresent God. He is everywhere.

Heaven is not subject to time and space. Have you ever heard the question, how many angels on the head of a pin?

Re: Where is Jesus now?
But go the next step for me. I could give all the typical answers. I know heaven isn't a place on a cloud , but if Jesus wanted something to eat to show that he was not a "ghost" then He has a physical body. Now, I realize His body was glorified, but when He ascended, He went up--------then what happened? What is the church's teaching at that point?

I think the answer has the word "Mystery" in it. However He appeared, or appears, to people in Time/space is a function of being in Time/space. Like being relative to us as bread/wine, to all appearances while truly being the Body and Blood of Christ. Outside of Time/Space a glorified and resurrected body will, of necessity, be different in that it is in a state of nonlocality.
Or, more simply: you'll figure it out when you get there. Just be sure you do.

And yet he's also on every Catholic (and Orthodox) altar during the liturgy.

Not exactly.
Our Lady was taken up, but Our Lord Jesus ascended by his own Divine power.
Summa: Third Part: Question 57
Article 3. Whether Christ ascended by His own power?
"Therefore Christ ascended into heaven by His own power, first of all by His Divine power, and secondly by the power of His glorified soul moving His body at will."

Well, I am not so sure that I personally agree with this understanding. Our Lord Jesus is present to us in the Eucharist. He has also appeared or perhaps I should write that saints were allowed to see him - here on earth and after the ascension. Recently, I was reading, and I apologize because I do not remember where right now ( I skim a lot of books) that a saint was in a church or chapel for Mass and he saw Jesus, when the priest was going to start the prayer of the Eucharist Jesus quickly went and 'entered' if you will the host.
Hence, we cannot say that Jesus will 'never' be on earth after the ascension until He returns for all to see Him. For Jesus has been on earth and has spoken with canonized saints and faithfuls. I think He will continue to do so until the end of time.
************
OP, Jesus is everywhere because Jesus is God. He said that He will be with us until the end of time. When He ascended He sent to us the Holy Spirit and with the Trinity where there is one there are the others.

In heaven(ascended bodily) and in every Catholic Church in the Eucharist, and finally everywhere (is God Almighty--2nd Person of the Most Holy Trinity).

I don't think it gets any more specific than that.
But I did meet a guy down at the 7-Eleven who said he was Jesus and was selling hash brownies...so I don't know he could be at the 7-Eleven, but I think He's in Heaven sitting at the right hand of the Father.

Re: Where is Jesus now?
I appreciate all the responses and the closest answer to the question I'm seeking is that it is a mystery. I know God is everywhere and the Eucharist is Jesus, that Jesus is sitting at the Father's right hand------but-----hasn't anyone ever wondered where His body ascended to when it ascended; and when you say heaven, then where's heaven. If His body had substance, then it needs to be somewhere. I know God can do anything and this must go along with how angels came down to earth and were seen and spoke. I'm just curious.

Re: Where is Jesus now?
We don't know. I've read that some think Enoch and Elijah are now in Paradise. (Genesis 2:8) Perhaps Jesus Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary are with them.

Re: Where is Jesus now?
Basically you're asking where is heaven. I have often pondered this myself, Paul said that he was taken up into the third heaven. The first heaven is what we call the sky or atmosphere, the second heaven is what we refer to as outer space and the third heaven would be beyond the universe we live in.

Re: Where is Jesus now?
Right now, Heaven is not a physical place, but rather a person, Jesus, and to be with Him there one would be in a state of being.-something to ponder.
