Special Ways to tell your husband you're pregnant
Yes.. I am completely jumping the gun here... I know I know!
I was just wondering what creative ways you've announced/or been told that you're expecting by your spouse.
I know a lot of couples take the test at the same time and look together, but my hubby leaves really early in the morning for work before I get up... I'd love to be able to think of a way to make up for me knowing a few hours before he does!
Thanks!

I'm not pregnant and won't be for some time but I plan to get a large hamburger bun, or any bun really and write my due date on it then stick it in the oven for him to find. If I have to I'll.ask him to make me a frozen pizza or something.

Father's Day is coming up. Give him something from the little bean.

Re: Special Ways to tell your husband you're pregnant
At our parish, it is customary on Mother's Day for our pastor to give carnations to expectant mothers.
He will invite expectant mothers to stand, but will preface it with a caveat that if a woman feels uncomfortable she should feel no obligation to stand.
Well, one woman in our parish had recently 'tested positive', but had not yet told her husband, and she missed hearing the caveat that a woman is welcome to remain seated.
So she stood up thinking that she was now obligated to do so.
Her standing up was the first her husband knew of it :P

Re: Special Ways to tell your husband you're pregnant
I don't know if this qualifies as "special", but it was definitely memorable...
We weren't *trying* to conceive at the time, but definitely breaking the ol' NFP rules so... I was getting suspicious because my cycle was late... I finally broke down at work one day and walked to the pharmacy next door to work and bought a test. Took the test in the restroom stalls at work, snapped a photo of it with my phone, and sent it to my unsuspecting love. Being that this was my first digital pregnancy test that kindly interpreted the result for me, my only text in the email was "Buggers are digital now."
His response was slightly more expletive.

Re: Special Ways to tell your husband you're pregnant
I believe for one of my children, I called my DH at work and said, "Are you sitting down?" We were trying, but he was amazed that it happened so fast.

I ended up doing something like that.
I found out while my husband was out of town, for THREE weeks.
So I called him at his hotel. Asked if he were sitting, he wasn't, he was lying on the bed. I told him that might be better.

Re: Special Ways to tell your husband you're pregnant
No lie, we found out we were pregnant from fortune cookies!
Ok, so here's the story. I had been thinking I might be pregnant but hadn't said anything or taken the test yet. I finally mentioned it in passing to my hubby, but we didn't talk about it too seriously. I just had mentioned that things were a little strange lately.
That day, we went to a chinese buffet for lunch. When we finished eating, we opened our fortune cookies... Mine said "Now is time to call your family. Share the good news!" And his said, "Forget about the stock market. Invest in family."
We looked at each other over the table and said, "No way..." But I kept the fortunes just in case!
I took the test that night, and sure enough, I was pregnant. Isn't God funny sometimes??

See...this is something I would do!
When I tested positive I wasn't even late yet. I was expecting AF that day and figured I'd test to get it out of the way.
Lo and Behold it was instantly positive.
As for telling hubby?
He had just got home from an overnight shift and was trying to sleep when I stormed the room demanding he wake up and read the test and tell me I wasn't crazy!
So, no...I wasn't exactly special...or even respectable for that matter...
I think I might be a bit more creative for my next kiddo!

Re: Special Ways to tell your husband you're pregnant
My DH knew before I did!
Both times!
He said simply "You are late" and presented me with a test!
Twice he has done it, twice he was right! I swear he knows my cycle better than I do!

Re: Special Ways to tell your husband you're pregnant
His favorite team is the White Sox, so I bought him a baby-sized White Sox hat. I wrapped it in a blue-and-pink gift bag/tissue with a card at the bottom where I had written the news. When he unwrapped the package, he tried the hat on and quickly removed it, thinking I had bought the wrong thing and being too polite to let me know it didn't fit. It wasn't until he actually read the card that he got the message. So basically he missed two clues - the pink and blue wrapping, and the baby hat, and had to have it spelled out for him .

Re: Special Ways to tell your husband you're pregnant
For the twins, I had my first (who was about 10 months old?) hand him a note that said something like "Guess what Dad??" on the front, and then he opens it and it says "I'm going to be a big brother!" I had to come up with something quick, because there was no way I could keep the news to myself even one night.
When I found out it was twins, hubby called me on his break after my appointment, as he usually does, and I told him, "Well we saw the heartbeats. The babies look healthy!" and he was all "Did you say 'babies'??" I still remember the excitement in his voice!
GL, hope you get your BFP soon!

Re: Special Ways to tell your husband you're pregnant
Awwww. I wish I had the patience of you ladies. Those are really cute stories.
My brain goes into some kind of denial each and every time (even though all have been planned and are very much wanted). I ended up shaking the test at him going "what does this say, I can't teeeeelllllllllllll".
Maybe next time I'll be better prepared!
