Different Colors of Member Names
I am curious and was just wondering what they mean?
I know that blue member names mean that the member is one of the Moderators. I know member names in red indicate that the member is an Apologist. I've also seen orange and gold and brown member names and those indicate the Member is a staff member of CAF, I think. Some of their departments are Production, Development, Marketing, Radio, etc. I've seen one purple name and know the member is a staff member, but I don't know what the purple color means.
What about regular members? My own name is just standard black text, but I've noticed other colors. I've seen bolded black member names and greyed out member names. What do the bolded black names indicate? What do greyed names mean? Are there other colors I haven't mentioned? What do they mean?
Thanks for any answers!

Re: Different Colors of Member Names
I haven't noticed all the colors. The ones that I have like the bolded black are Forum Elders. The only other ones that I have noticed are light blue when they have been suspended or banned. The light blue also are those registering. These colorings only show up in members on line and visitor to profiles. The Moderators are in Large blue. I will have to pay better attention.

Re: Different Colors of Member Names
I've noticed the gray names, and I've also wondered what they meant. I thought maybe the names in gray were people who for some reason didn't have a profile you could go to, but this isn't the case.

Re: Different Colors of Member Names
Here is a list of persons employed by CAF. It shows the color of their name, the position they hold and the department in which they are assigned. I see eight different colors (but my eyes are old )

Members whose name are in bolded black are either Forum Masters or Forum Elders.
I am not sure about persons whose name is shown in gray. I seem to recall seeing them occasionally. Does anyone have a link to an example?

Maybe what I am seeing as light blue is gray for registering members?

Thanks for the list. I see a magenta on that list, that I hadn't noticed before!
Here is a link to a thread containing a greyed out name. At least it looks grey to me. It could be light blue, I suppose.

Could it be because they are a trial member?

Blue to me but you could say it was gray. I believe Aelred Minor is right they are trial members. Here is someone who has been suspended the name is not black but a faded black or gray?

No, I don't think so. There are two trial members in the thread I linked to. One is greyed out, the other is black.

It's the same blue-gray color the new threads I haven't clicked on.

I meant to link to the thread again in the post quoted above. Here is the link again. Posts #3 and #15 were both made by Trial Members (as of today they are Trial Members, that will change with future posting). Right now, one member name is greyed out, the other is not, though both are Trial Members now.

Oops. Guess my last post was unnecessary. Sorry, I didn't see your post above until I'd already posted.
Anyway, I wonder about the difference. Maybe adrift has the answer or is on the right track with the post below (bolding mine).

In any event, I did get some answers as to why the different member name colors. Thanks, all!

Purple generally signifies the admins.

Thank you! As I clicked through the different links I noticed "Google Search" is green, something I'd never noticed before! Don't know if I just haven't been paying attention to all the colors or what, but I appreciate all the answers from everyone!
