Hi wonderful friends!!
I I am going to attend my first evening of recollection at Opus Dei in my area. What is it? What can I expect?
Please and Thank you!!!

Prayer, preaching, silence for meditation are standard.

If it's at a Center, I'd expect a priest to be available for confession.
Let us know how it goes.

Expect probable Exposition and Benediction, confession to be available, maybe 2 spiritual talks, possibly a reading from a written homily, prayer, silence, and that it be all women except for the priest(s) (your user name seems female). Oh, an examination of conscience might be read out.

Re: What do I expect at an evening of recollection?
Thanks again for taking time to answer my questions as usual. I think I am now gonna need prayers because it might be impossible for me to have moments of silence... I might get kicked out my first day. I'm a little chatty one..lol

Hi
I go to Opus Dei evenings of recollection once a month if I can.
What Pug said is pretty spot on.
They are well worth attending.
Enjoy.

You'll be fine. You'll most likely enjoy having an evening where you can just be and be with God.

I've been to a couple and this is exactly what it is.
I enjoy them.

Re: What do I expect at an evening of recollection?
Yes. This is what to expect.
Remember the point of these activities is to put you in conversation with God. There may be some resolutions and inspirations that come out of it.
Bring a little notebook perhaps.
