Re: Dud threads
Anybody feel brave enough to tell me how to place "quotes" in my posts, it may ease some confusion.

Richard,
When you hit the "quote" button down in the bottom right corner of a post it brings up the reply to thread window. The form you see to begin and end what you were responding to is the form for putting quotes into a reply if you're wanting to break up the quote or quote from multiple places. You can identify who it came from with the QUOTE=name format (inside brackets) or leave the name off if you don't need to identify. The quote ends with the /QUOTE inside the brackets.

Re: Dud threads
I keep thinking how much Ignor would have loved this thread. It makes his loss seems so especially poignant...
But hey, all threads have to sometime.... ....That is the most upsetting thought I've ever had....

Yes Zooey, I still have fond thoughts of that baby we killed off just because we thought him to be "unproductive."
By the way, I love your little "dying and getting your halo" smiley. Now if I can figure out how to copy one of those back into a post I'll be thrilled.

It seems to us as mere posters that all threads have to die, but does it really have to be that way? Was there an original thread somewhere that went awry, with maybe like one rule and of course that's the one It Had To Break, forcing a Law that all threads are to have limited lifetimes? Is there such a thing as unlimited upgrades, forever -- or is forever finite because of the Second Coming?

I know the "club" forums like the 'noids and mudgies and trogs have to change their clubhouses after 1000 posts so that is probably the upper limit.

Not the ACC!
We're not attached to any particular forum or website or blog or any of that stuff.
We are cantankerously independent and abrasively aloof from the everyday, humdrum, commonplace nonsense occuring on most of the web.
Then again, some may perceive us as very lonely.

OK that does it - shall we accept the challenge to get this thread to 1,000 posts? Even if we have to bump it 600 times??
Come one, who's with me???
