Where to get OLSS statues from?
I have seen many statues for sale online of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Lourdes, Grace, Perpetual Help, etc. But does anyone know where I can get an Our Lady, Star of the Sea statue? It is my favorite Marian devotion.

Re: Where to get OLSS statues from?
St. Andrew's Church Supply has one, but it's a bit pricey.
You should probably look for church supply stores in towns near the ocean, with Italian or Portuguese or other Catholic immigrant populations. Like Boston or Galveston or something.
You could also buy a generic Mary statue in blank plaster (like at a ceramic store) or with existing paint (like at a church supply store), and then just paint the statue to fit one of the standard kinds of Star of the Sea iconography. Maybe put her in a model boat or put a boat against her feet, that sort of thing.
This has been an educational thread. Several statues have a star on Mary's forehead, which I've previously only seen in weird late Victorian neopagan stuff. Apparently they were stealing their ideas from Catholics again, because of course anything that's not Anglican counted as weird pagan stuff to them.... (shakes head)

Re: Where to get OLSS statues from?
Well, it's probably hand-carved, and that probably takes a while. If I could whittle out a lifelike wooden statue, I'd charge plenty, also.
Church supply stores have two grades of statue. I think that's one of the ones meant for churches, to last for years and years.

Yes, it looks to be hand carved. Lindenwood, also called basswood, is one of the traditional woods for liturgical wood sculpture, with a history of use going back to at least the Middle Ages.
That's a nice statue.

Woodcarving, as Mintaka surmised, is time-consuming; plus the reseller, whether gallery or religious supply company, has to charge quite a bit over the cost from the artist.
Here are some modern religious woodcarvings that I think everyone will appreciate. The artist, Fred Zavadil from Canada, does really nice work, as skillful as the Medieval carvers whose work is now either in old European churches or in museums.---- http://www.fredzavadilwoodcarving.co...us-sculptures/
I'm not affiliated with him in any way, but I'm a sculptor myself and I appreciate good craftsmanship and talent when I see it.
