Re: suspended and banned members?
Hi Bengal Fan,
I was wondering the same thing, and used the forum "Search" function (searching for the word "suspended") to find the following thread:
http://forums.catholic.com/showthread.php?t=4782
which includes an explanation from Karl Keating on this topic.

Re: suspended and banned members?
The first guy was banned.
Then the second guy asked why the first guy was banned.
The third guy asked why the first two were banned.
Don't look now . . . .
Just kidding . . . read Karl's post.

It's a little off topic, but who is the ridiculously patient person who goes through all our posts and puts the **** in scrape, scrap, etc? I mean, it reminds me of that Black Adder skit, where the general says to Black Adder, "Security is not a dirty word, Black Adder... crevice is a dirty word."

Re: suspended and banned members?
I think the forums here are remarkably open. I had my doubts when I first came in a few weeks ago but I have seen a great deal of tolerance here.
Public internet forums are susceptible to being hijacked by individuals who post for their own purposes, and not according to the original intent of the owner. Sometimes it requires drastic measures to keep the operation working cleanly.
I know of an Orthodox Christian forum where EVERY post is moderated. Some lines of thought simply will not be expressed there.

Re: suspended and banned members?
I think that if there are members that do not want to resposd to questions, and discuss topics in a reasonable way, they should be suspended. Case in point, yesterday, questions being answered with more questions, and no discussion.

Yes, then it might also detreriorate into personal attacks, or allusions about ones character.
I think everyone, myself included, could fall into the mud-slinging. It is something we all need to work at. If how we think and believe is true to God, we should be able to defend it and discuss it with intelligence and courtesy.

Re: suspended and banned members?
I just got a notice that my post was moved and the post that was moved was not named and when I ask for more information and the why. It seems that it could not be understood so I expained it but seeing that your words are limited hear my explaination had to be brief so then no reply came as to the what and the why. ? I at least knew why I was not liked on the "Zola Board" because they just think Catholics are evil so I came here hoping to find a kindred Spirit but like Saint John of the Cross I have my head to far in the Clouds to be understood. God Bless
