Demons, ghosts...?
I'm writing this on behalf of my sister. Lately she has been experiencing weird supernatural things that need to be addressed.
She recently discovered that her apartment building was the site of a bad fire in the 1930's that killed a bunch of people. Recently she has been regularly visited by a ghost or spirit that has made itself known in various ways (security lights outside the building staying on despite no one being there, then going out when the "thing" is approached, seeing spirit people following her, etc.) At least one of them seems to be not only harmless but benevolent too. Her cats seem to have taken a liking to it, and she feels that it's "watching out for her". I think she also mentioned it was wearing period clothing.
But that's not the end of it. There's a person in her and her boyfriend's life that hates her for dating her boyfriend (even though he's a good guy), and this individual has practiced black magic in the past and my sister fears this individual might have put a hex on them. What's been happening lately is that her boyfriend will wake up with bruises and scratching on his face that are not caused by her, him, or her cats, random pictures of them together will get knocked over around the house in the middle of the night (and the pictures are positioned such that her cats cannot knock them down, so something else is), and random white paw prints are left on the floor that are too big to be a cat's paws.
Anyway, this is definitely a spiritual issue that needs addressing. We've all talked about the possibility of using holy water, blessed salt, or sage to rid the house of spirits, but I also wanted to ask here first. I have an idea of what to do but don't have an exact plan of action.
What do we do?

Re: Demons, ghosts...?
Pray to God, demons tremble by the name of Jesus, and I'd call a Priest to bless the house, thats what I'd do, God bless

Re: Demons, ghosts...?
My standard, canned response, for the sake of time:
Here is a good place to start:
http://saint-mike.org/ is a controversial site, but I have found good info there, particularly the deliverance prayers, especially the Hedge Prayer, and the 7 steps to self deliverance.
Do some digging, and you will also find their Spiritual Warfare Prayer Catalog. I can tell you with complete certainty, the Hedge Prayer works. But it's just one weapon. You will very likely need to build up an entire arsenal. The St. Michael Chaplet is another powerful weapon, and works well, if prayed fervently, and daily. You probably won't notice the effect for a while, but if you ever stop, you may very likely see what you're missing. You can pray it on a regular Rosary.
If you are Catholic, attend Mass and confess often. The Sacraments are everything the Church says they are, and more. Unfortunately, it took me many years to understand this.
Divine Mercy Chaplet. This is powerful as well, and can be prayed on a regular Rosary.
Recite the Scriptural version of the Way of the Cross. Every night, before bed. This too is a powerful form of prayer.
Buy at least two Rosaries, and have them blessed by a Priest. Wear one around your neck at all times except bathing. Look into the Brown Scapular as well.
If you really want to go thermonuclear, buy a nice statue of Blessed Mary, have it blessed, and keep it by your bed. Buy two or more Crucifixes, and have them blessed as well. Hang one over your bed, where you sleep. Sleep with a blessed Rosary in one hand, and a blessed Crucifix in the other.
Pray at least every morning and every night, for yourself, your family, your friends, etc. Pray to Blessed Mary, and ask Her to guide you.
Find a Priest who knows how to exorcise water and salt, not just bless it. Once he exorcises both the water and salt, he can mix some salt with the water, and say a third blessing over the combination. THAT... is Holy Water at it finest. Also, shake a moderate amount of exorcised salt on your supper, or in a glass of drinking water. This little added touch really helps.
Above all, I would look at this as an opportunity to come closer to God, and hopefully to Blessed Mary as well. Things may even get a bit worse at first when you begin to fight back, but persevere. Consider this a gift from God. And persevere.

Make an appointment with your local parish priest and explain the situation to him.
I'd be more worried about the "person in her and her boyfriend's life that hates her for dating her boyfriend...who practiced black magic in the past" than any demons or curses. Demons and curses are a matter for the Church and are easily dealt with by the power of the Church. The "hateful person" might be a matter for the police because generally people who are so hateful that they are willing to open up a pathway to the demonic and Satan in the wish that that the powers of darkness would physically harm others, are also capable of harming others directly themselves.

What is controversial about that site?
Also, the OP may be interested in the Ritual of a House Exorcism and talking with a priest.
p.s. Plus other Household prayers on this page.

Does she wear a scapular? If she doesn't she should. Tell her to have a priest bless the house and always have holy water.

I just wanted to add my agreement to this point. In our experience, the kind of mind that would court the demonic is full of all sorts of odd machinations. I'd cover this on both ends--physical and spiritual.

I probably shouldn't have read this at 12:31AM my time, but I hope I can help so I will try: Go to church and ask for prayer coins. Put them under the cracks of doors, stairways, etc. I don't know what the CCC says about it, but that's just what I read online. Talk to a priest about buying some Holy Water and blessing your house. Sorry if I couldn't be more help, but I know that when I get intrusive thoughts, verbally proclaiming Jesus as God's One and only Son helps chase the bad thoughts away. I've never been in your situation but it's worth a shot

Prayer coins? Are you sure you don't mean Holy Medals? If you mean charms or talismans, then that's prohibited by the church.
Also, Holy Water is never sold. It's not allowed to sell blessed items after they are blessed. They have to be blessed again if they are sold. That includes Holy Water.
Besides, Holy Water is free in every parish. You just need to ask for some.

I know charms and talismans are prohibited by the church, that's not what I meant. I was reading on yahoo answers and this persons house is haunted (not my questions or answers). Someone - I'm assuming is Christian - recommended them.
Here:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...8094029AAKskUG
I know that any objects (talismans etc) hold no power, so NO I am not talking about pagan charms etc. I'm talking about these little coin things with prayers on them that (I'm assuming) are blessed by a priest. I'm really confused now though, I hope I've cleared things up. Please let me know, I wasn't suggesting anything pagan.
I didn't know that Holy Water had to be blessed twice interesting.
