What do I do about my son who says he is an agnostic?
We adopted him at the age of 6/12 through foster care. He has had a history of physical abuse, and hurt in his life. We also adopted his 18 year old brother who has had nothing but issues, they are both quite depressed, and the younger one is very angry. We were Protestants but for the last few years I have been attending mass. I am presently in RCIA.we have him in a Christian school. As of a few months ago after his brother spent some time in a psychiatric ward he announced to us he is not a Christian, and no longer believes in God, heaven or hell. I am afraid satan is attacking our family. We no longer attend church as a family. I am becoming Catholic, and my husband quit going to the lutheran church after his church had a huge falling out. My husband, and boys want nothing to do with the catholic,church, I have tried. my husband, and the older boy are interested in returning to a Protestant church. Do we force him to attend mass. Or church? How should I respond to his talk of only foolish people believe in the ridiculousness of God? Right now I am just getting angry.
