As I get more disgusted watching the news and reading opinions on the internet I finally came across a couple of articles that attempt to deal with the most important issues at hand
What exactly happened?
Where exactly did all the water come from?
How much from storm surge?
How much from breaks in levees?
Why did the levees break?
How can they be fixed? (Can they be fixed?)
Here is a link that makes reference to a Wall Street Journal article that I was not able to locate online (apparantly titled Anatomy of a Flood)

If anyone knows how to get at the WSJ articles that would be greatly appreciated.
More information I found interesting..

It's my hope we could have a thread that deals just with the facts of examining what exactly happened.
If we are not willing to examine the truth - how on earth can anything ever get fixed?
I would appreciate it for others to share their knowledge, or articles they have come across that will help us shed light on what actually happened.
