Default So when is Lent OFFICIALLY over?

I have always heard Lent goes on until 12am Easter Sunday, or I've heard 12noon Holy Saturday. Which is it? Needing a beer bad.

JUST KIDDING PEOPLE! Although I never thought I could make it nearly an entire Lent without a beer. Thanks be to God!

I understand - I'm getting a little twitchy for some Minecraft

Since the whole "giving up [thing] for Lent" is a purely private devotion, I think it's up to you as to when you want to break your Lenten fast. For me, it's after the Easter Vigil Mass.

Yes, you are correct. The Triduum begins on Friday.

For those of us that follow the Traditional Mass and its regs, the Fast is over after the Vigil Mass on Holy Saturday, providing your parish finishes that Mass after midnight (12 am of april 1st)

I have no clue as to what is done if you follow the OF Mass.

Close. The Triduum begins immediately before the Mass of the Lord's Supper. So Thursday evening is part of the Triduum, but the rest of Thursday is part of Lent!

The Triduum is 72 hours, so it continues until afternoon on Easter Sunday. This is the only time of year where a liturgical season doesn't start/end at midnight.

That doesn't necessarily mean you should spend Thursday night on Minecraft until your brain melts.

Lent is officially over, as I've been instructed, just as the Mass on Holy Thursday begins.

Not quite. Lent ends with the Evening Mass of the Lord's Supper, at which point the Triduum begins, and that is on Thursday evening. Thursday morning is still Lent.

I for one will start sling-shotting angry birds at bad piggies sometime after Easter morning. I always felt Easter morning breakfast was the end of the fasting after all of lent, good friday and holy saturday.

I'm looking foward to having coffee again...

Been at a constant level of sleepiness for several weeks now....

However, I did indulge on St Joseph's Day and Laetare (sp?) Sunday....
