I wish Jimmy Akin didn't ...
... precede each show with his 3 rules (get straight to the question, no comments allowed and only one question per caller). It's kind of a turn-off.
But he does often have some great answers.

Re: I wish Jimmy Akin didn't ...
I am glad he does that. I find it a turn off listening to people go on and on and on and not say anything! I find myself yelling "Get to the point and ask the question!!" Callers should reherse what they are going to say or write it down so they don't waste time.

Re: I wish Jimmy Akin didn't ...
Just be glad Jimmy doesn't have a FOURTH requirement:
"Keep each question up to 30 seconds in length! " Don't push his button, he may even do this!

It does seem to be a bit of a waste of time, seeing that they're not actually enforced.

Or as Capt. Barbossa would say: they are more like guidelines than actual rules.
My guess is the rules are in place to discourage tire-kickers, axe-grinders, and agenda-pushers. If a caller is not one of these, he can be a little flexible.

Re: I wish Jimmy Akin didn't ...
Well, if Karl can have his rules then why can't Jimmy have his too? It's only fair (and allows Jimmy to feel equal to Karl), afterall!

Ah, Capt. Barbossa - originator of one of my favorite movie quotes of all time:
"You best start believing in ghost stories Miss Turner... you’re in one!"

Re: I wish Jimmy Akin didn't ...
I love C.A. as it is one of the factors in keeping this revert in. Rules for show? I feel that if you solemnly announce a rule and make no effort to enforce it ( "one question per customer" ) it brings comtempt on rules generally.
If your line is not hard you don't have a line.

The new fourth rule is the worst.

Re: I wish Jimmy Akin didn't ...
I noticed that today's Q&A (9/28) some callers gave comments before their question. Maybe because the comments were about CA Live instead of setting up for a question.
Jimmy, you really outdid yourself tonight! Great answers to question I never would have thought of!

Re: I wish Jimmy Akin didn't ...
The fact that Jimmy mentioned the song "Kum Bye Ya"
That just made the show for me.....
