Trying to intellectually reflect on the Eucharist and its meaning does not bring us closer to God. In fact it may actually pull us away from God. It still looks and tastes like bread and wine, but it is the Body and Blood of our Lord. Intellectual studies will not reveal the true nature to us (except in a few Eucharistic miracles throughout the ages). It is our faith in the Word of God that reveals the truth to us. That it is truly the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
