Default Novena to Saint Augustine

I wrote my own novena to Saint Augustine, after whom I took my baptismal name. I was wondering if

a) writing my own novena is legitimate form of devotion
b) whether such a thing as I ask below is appropriate to ask for in a devotion.
c) if there is anything wrong you can see with the prayer as I have written it.

Perhaps this is nitpicky, but I want to be darn sure that I am doing my prayers right. Thank you in advance for your kind advice. In any case, here it is:

Novena to St. Augustine
Blessed Saint Augustine of Hippo,
After you I took my baptismal name in memory of your learning. In your youth, you lived a sinful existence. You lived loosely and loved drunkenness. You committed theft and were lustful and acted as such. Yet inspired by the love of your mother, Saint Monica, who prayed on your behalf for 20 years, you turned away from your previous debauched existence, became baptized and turned to our Lord in Jesus Christ.

Once you realized the path of God, you put your tremendous intellect and learning in service of our Lordís Holy Church. You battled heresy and became a Doctor of the Church whose wisdom still illuminates those who seek to understand our Creator. To this day, you are remembered as one of the most remarkable Saints who ever lived on Earth.

Blessed Saint Augustine, I am burdened by character flaws that drive me to sin, and prevent my becoming a devoted servant to my God. I am so flawed in these ways:

(character flaws)

I seek your intercession so that by a miracle of the Holy Spirit these blemishes are lifted from me to leave behind only a soul pure as the driven snow. I ask this in the memory of your remarkable earthly life, where in order to to serve God and the truth, you overcame your licentious ways and turned your soul wholly to Him. May I follow your example and be become cleansed of my own iniquities, and by that cleansing, become a devoted servant of our Lord. As you proved in time to be entirely receptive to your mother St. Monicaís 20 long years of prayer on your behalf, may I prove in time to be receptive in the same way to the prayers and counsel of those who love me and have my best interests at heart. Amen.

Our Father
Three Hail Maryís
Glory Be

Blessed Saint Augustine; pray for me and pray for everyone else who asks for your intercession. May Godís will be done.
