Default Why is CA fundraising again?

Didn't we just have an annual fundraiser a short time ago? Are the financials posted somewhere here--and an explanation of the new "emergency?"

For most church related ministries summer is a difficult time financially because they rely on contributions from those who use the ministry. CA is what you'd call "listener supported" similar to National Public Radio or Public TV. So, much as they don't like to ask for funds, they often have to do it so they may keep going. Hope this explains it. It might be free for us to use CAF but it costs CA to put it on the internet.

CA is starting to remind me a little of Wikipedia.

Good question--I hate to admit this--but the sound is somehow turned off on my Dell laptop (there is no external sound control) and the bottom control bar sound adjustment isn't having any impact. Did Jimmy explain it? Anybody know how to fix the sound contol setting? The sound icon on control panel doesn't seem to effect it.

Ah. Well, yes, he does. He explains that summertime is always a difficult time for Catholic Answers, and this summer has been particularly hard (which is understandable due to deplorable state of the economy) and that they have had layoffs and paycuts.

CA has said:
  • The staff has taken pay cuts averaging 26%.
  • We have had to let several staff members go.
  • We will not be filling additional positions to expand the ministry's work.
  • We have had to cut back on our current apostolic efforts because we simply do not have the people.
