Default What does the Christian fish symbol mean (ixthus)?

So does anyone know about this... Question in the title of the thread.

It's formed by drawing two circles overlapping...in the three parts that are created..the top part is God, the bottom us and the middle a jesus representing that we need Jesus to connect us to God.

If you take a pen and draw the lines of the middle it will form the fish.

i once read that it was used by early christians to identify each other without attracting persecution. one would draw one line in the ground while they talked, and if the other was also a believer, they'd complete the drawing. don't know how true that is, but i love the imagery of it.

It was a code word to attend the secret meeting during the times of persecutions. If you didn't have the code you couldn't enter... That's what I heard.
