Default The Converted Catholic Magazine Article?

In my continuing conversations at www.contenderministries.com forums, I was given this as a proof that Catholics regard the pope too highly:
"The January, 1946, issue of The Converted Catholic Magazine carried an article entitled "Pope Pius XII" which began as follows:

The Prompta Bibliotheca, an official Roman Catholic almanac published by the press of Propaganda Fide in Rome, in its article under "Papa," state: "The Pope is of so great dignity and so exalted that he is not a mere man, but as it were, God, and the Vicar of Christ. The Pope is of such lofty dignity that, properly speaking, he has not been established in any rank of dignity, but has been placed upon the very summit of all ranks of dignities. He is likewise the Divine Monarch and Supreme Emperor, and King of Kings. The Pope is of so great authority and power that he can modify, explain or interpret even divine laws."

Has anyone heard of this or have any advice on a response?
Thanks

Here's a link for you to New Advent. The author of the "prompta bibliotheca" lived in the 18th century, for one thing. Context, context, context.

Isn't it cute how that site you mention (in an article from 1946, no less), acts as though this "Catholic almanac" was published THEN, in 1946? As though, even if this WERE an "official Catholic almanac" that it was to be considered as inspired or infallible teachings on the order of the creed? Yeah, way to misdirect, mislead, misinform.

Converted Catholic Magazine was a farce of a publication that was put out by a group of former Catholic priests who had converted FROM Catholicism to non-demoninational evangelicalism. It was full of anti-Catholic diatribes. The editor in chief (Dr. Lehmann) was also responsible for spreading the untruth that the so-called Protocols of the Elders of Zion were fabricated by the Jesuits. He also claimed that the Jesuits were Soldiers of Satan's Army.

The simple response is that the writer of the article made it up.

The other two people have responded well. I woud only add, why not challenge the people to actually refute the catechism, than this type of worthless non-sense (maybe you have). Good luck making them believe it's a bunch of lies, though. Those types don't like hearing their precious "evidence" is nothing more than a pile of doo-doo.
