Default What are noids, mudgies, etc?

What is the deal with these "groups" - Curmudgeons ("Mudgies"), Noids, Internet Junkies, Thread Killers etc.? I've looked all over for an explaination, but I think I must have missed something. Will somebody clue me in?

Ah, we get this question quite regularly. The forums have been up and running close to what? two years now? Anyway, these are groups of like-minded folk who are regulars on the forums. Mudgies are curmudgeons and ostensibly grumps. The Junkies were in amongst the mudgies but had a "falling out" because they were so cheerful - and went to their own "clubhouse". I am the chief Trog - short for Troglodyte because I used the word "dear" in a response to a 30 something woman and got flamed in response simply for being polite. The noids are paranoid, "THEY" are out to get you. We had a really good time last summer with the various "wars" that broke out but we don't do that kind of thing anymore.

The long and the short of it: most all of us talk back and forth between the threads. Feel free to join in. Everyone is friendly.

A thread killer is the person who post the very last post on a thread that closes the thread. IN other words no one else responds after the thread killer.

I would be a prime example of a thread killer. My brilliant wit and intelligence makes it difficult to respond so no one posts after I making my extremly amazing points. At least that is what I keep trying telling myself.

Of course those of us who are both Mudgies and Trogs at the same time are the ultimate enigma....the polite grump!!

The amazing thing with these groups is the way we pull together in times of need. When somebody is down or hurting or has suffered a loss, you'll find that we act as one body in providing prayer and support--the rest of the world will stop for us while we minister to each other's needs. I can't put into words how deeply touched I have been by these brothers and sisters who I don't doubt for a minute would put their lives on the line for me.

Of course we do like to party too once in a while.......ok, maybe most of the time......

Then there are those who are a part of all four clubs...a little bit grump, a little be paranoia, a little bit trog, and a bit of a nice guy too!

Enter either 'club' you want and just have some fun!

These 'clubs' are basically a place for refuge from the agonies of the world, or the Forums for that matter.

Okay, a technical question...

Do you still qualify as a thread killer if the moderator makes a post after yours explaing why the thread is being closed and cites your post in the reasons?

Not that this has ever necessarily happened to me...

Well, more than once anyways.

Talking Re: What are noids, mudgies, etc?

Personally, I am a 'Noid Trog....on quest for the Holy Grail.
I am never in the least curmudgeonly....OK, there was the thing about eating Turkey Lurkey....but other than that, there has never been....OK, that's right; that was the same day that Pork Chop became pork chops, but they were frozen.

Just remember that THEY are after us all, & THEIR evil knows no bounds!! If you can stay out of the reach of THEM, everything will be fine....

Unless, of course, Bela doesn't recognize you, & eats you. But then, we give wonderful memorials for fallen threads....
Although I have to say, I never have clapped eyes on "..." again, & I suspect that THEY may be using it to create Lifelike Lifesized Robots....Or chocolate :-0 CHIP cookies!!! Or THEY are using the Gift of the Discernment of Dots for their own Nefarious Purposes.

OK, now we've cleared that up tidily. What ever happened to the Vampire Penguins?? Have they gone over to the :-0 Servants of the Templars???
