But the funny thing is fundamentalist Protestants who have the most problem with Rome (you know the tune) are delighted with Alito. And Thomas, And Scalia. And Roberts. Only thing which would delight them more is if all four were members of Opus Dei.

Amazing turnaround from the Eisenhower years when Catholics had one "slot" on the Supreme Court and Brennen was so afraid of mainstream Americanas thinking he was taking orders from the Vatican he caved to the liberals on nearly every moral issue (he may not have believed in Church teachings himself but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt).

Btw..I'm not Catholic (not a fundamentalist either) and today is what I've been waiting for since I was in HS.

But...we need one more....just one more and we'll change America for two generations.

Im pretty excited too. now, we can bring cases before the Court and reinstate execution of juveniles, especially murders committed by gang members. now, gangs can use underage members to commit murders, with no fear of the death penalty.

then, the death penalty can be expanded further to include rape of small children, much like Kansas has, but is being challenged.

Next, the court can finally curb Congress and its abuse of the "Commerce Clause" on state authority, namely institution of Federal laws that aren't reserved within its powers. we need to recognize "sovreign immunity" as so eloquently described by Justice Roberts.

hopefully, a TRUE CONSTRUCTIONIST court will allow this.

Funny. I may get blasted for this, but people have been screaming for "constructionist judges", which if they were, would uphold what i have stated here. unless, they only care about "constructionism" when it comes to abortion. but i dont think you can have it both ways.
