The latin high Mass during which many parts are sung in gregorian chant is often beautiful. However, the latin low mass when all the prayers are said by the priest and the alter boys and are not heard by the congregation who sit silently following in a missal and do not participate verbally is quite another thing. To me the change from Latin to English was not the biggest change. The actual verbal paticipation of the congregation was what has made the Mass since the sixties so much better, in my opinion.
