Red face Joined, don't think I posted

Hi all,

I realized today (I don't know why) that I joined last year, but I don't think I ever posted.

It's been a busy, crazy year - not that any year for me is ever calm, but this has been "one of those years" that zoomed by and left my head spinning more than usual. I'm posting here because it said "family life" and I'm mostly about family life ..... and my job, which is about kids and their families! (People often ask me about ME, but there is no ME without my FAMILY, so ...... it's usually about my family )

Married "a long time" as I've been told by many, but I usually answer, come back to me and say that when we've been married for 25 years - haven't gotten there yet! Two kids here, two in heaven (one miscarriage, one stillbirth), one of our kids has special needs .... been a rocky ride but we've had support along the way by God's grace and mercy - lots of prayer. The Blessed Mother has been a constant companion in my life from my early years. I lost my mother suddenly in my 20s, so I still envy other moms who have their mothers with them ..... but I've done okay on my own (so I've been told).

Anyway ..... this year I started helping informally (as a parent) with Special Ed CCD, due to our youngest daughter (she calls it "God Class" ) and I will be going for some training this summer for that through the ArchDiocese.

I enjoy advocacy and research to stay current on issues of poverty and legislation impacting families in inner cities. I have a special fondness for Head Start and the issues that the program helps.
