Talk about "whataboutism". The article was about Georgetown, and how they admitted their responsibility and involvement in the slave trade.

In the United States, the Muslims had very little effect on the slave trade. Impressment by the British had a larger effect in the United States.

On a more general level, why is that even relevant? Are you trying to efface the historical grievances suffered by African Americans?

So how is this picking the scab? Do you think the ancestors of the slaves who received the apology are any angrier and more aggrieved for receiving it? I would think that they would have appreciated the apology and the gestures of contrition from Georgetown.
