Default wedding

My wife and I have a very dear and close friend ( who is Catholic ) getting married but not in a church. As Catholics are we allowed to go the wedding? or the reception?

Normally Catholics would be married in a Catholic church. However the bishop could have given a dispensation for it to be held somewhere else. If the wedding being officiated by a Catholic priest or deacon then it is very likely a Catholic wedding.
