Default For a friend who is having brain surgery

Please join me in praying for my friend F. who is a brain aneurysm survivor and is going in for another surgery tomorrow. Please pray that her surgery is successful and will resolve her condition so she doesn't have to keep having these operations. Thank you.

Prayer in time of Surgery
adapted from Catholic Health Association (Chausa.org)

God of Health and Wholeness,
We gather this morning to pray
For our friend F.,
as we desire for her to be restored
to the balance of good health.

We pray for a successful surgery and for the
Medical staff who will be working with her
so that she may fully recover,
and return with renewed zeal
to the daily life that we share.
With abounding hope and faith,
we call forth the healing power of God.

Divine Healer and Lord of Wholeness,
Together we place F. and her medical team in Your Hands.
Give F. peace of mind and renewed heart,
Free her from fear and worry and give her
Courage and hope.

Bring healing to the weakened parts of her body
and through this prayer comfort her with Your
Love and mercy.

F., may you be blessed
With the power and love of God,
And the affection of those who love you.
We pray in Jesus name.

Amen

St. Luke, St. Raphael, be with the surgeons as they work, so that God's will and hopefully healing can occur. Amen.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O' Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (F). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into F's body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Prayer to St. Alexius

Dear St. Alexius, you were born nobly to a Roman Senator and felt the call to belong all to Christ. With the help of your betrothed, you escaped the city and the future planned out for you and became a beggar on the city streets. After many years, you were so well known for your sanctity that you had to flee back to Rome, but you were never recognized by your family until your death. You gave up everything for God and lived so my and humbly, teaching the catechism to those you came in contact with. Help all of us today who live in materialistic society to live more simply and submit humbly to God. Pray that we find find our vocation as God wills it, that the call will not be deafened by our busy lives, our noisiness, and our weaknesses. I especially ask you to pray for all the intentions posted here this day, for those for whom I am obligated to pray, and for my family. Amen.

St. Alexius, pray for us!
